Eurocoltellerie, an Italian company active in the rental, supply and professional maintenance of equipment for the food sector and controlled by Algebris Investments, has acquired 100% of the Spanish industrial group Atenor.

The acquisition was handled within Eurocoltellerie by CFO Dimitri Novello; by Dea Spagna for financial and tax matters; and by Pavia e Ansaldo for the legal aspects of the transaction.

THE DETAILS

The transaction marks a key step in the group’s growth and internationalization strategy, launched following the 2024 entry of Algebris Investments into the share capital through a mix of share purchase and capital increase. The shared strategy aims to strengthen Eurocoltellerie’s position as a European industrial platform in the rent-to-reuse model, integrating an operator renowned for its extensive service network and high technical standards in the processing and maintenance of tools and machinery for the food industry and adjacent sectors.

Founded in 2003, the Atenor Group comprises three operating companies in Spain and one in Portugal specializing in the treatment and maintenance of professional tools. With over 30 distributors throughout the country, Atenor serves around 7,000 customers, including major supermarket chains, restaurants, numerous hospitals and industrial companies.

The acquisition will allow Eurocoltellerie to expand its commercial network and acquire a strategic customer base, strengthening its operational capacity at a European level and enhancing a service model that combines quality, continuity and circularity.

THE COMMENTS

Antonio Ferraro, CEO and co-founder of Eurocoltellerie, commented:
“With Atenor’s founders we share the story of an entrepreneurial journey that started from the roots of the trade and has grown over time into a structured and high-quality service for businesses. We are united by the same service-oriented vocation, technical specialization and deep understanding of professional clients’ needs. The acquisition represents a concrete acceleration of our internationalization project and a natural extension of the rent-to-reuse model into new high-potential markets.”

Luca Valerio Camerano (pictured), Managing Director of Algebris Investments, said:
“Our goal, from the outset of our investment in Eurocoltellerie, has been to consolidate domestic market leadership and start a path of international growth, while at the same time enhancing the environmental and sustainability impact of the business model. This acquisition represents the first concrete step in this direction: a strategic milestone confirming Eurocoltellerie’s potential in foreign markets as an industrial platform capable of combining innovation, sustainability and quality on a European scale.”

It is worth recalling that Aquanexa, a company of Algebris Green Transition Fund (a private equity fund of Algebris Investments also managed by Camerano), last April acquired 100% of TEC-AM, a Bergamo-based company specializing in the management, extraordinary maintenance and turnkey construction of drinking water and wastewater treatment plants for both municipal and industrial markets.
